David Milia - Business Processes

Mr. Milia has over 17 years of oil and gas experience within multiple disciplines including surveying and exploration, engineering procurement and construction management, and project management. He has overseen engineering procurement and construction management, documentation controls, and GIS special projects at large owner organizations, and was also the Academic Chair for the BSc in construction project management at SAIT. Mr. Milia has sat on the Board of Directors for aceBIM, and currently serves as the Associate Director at the Haskayne School of Business at the University of Calgary.

He holds a dual undergraduate degree, a technical diploma in engineering design and drafting, and a dual MBA focused in global energy management and sustainability, and project management. He is also a Certified Engineering Technologist under ASET.

Steven Parkin MBA, BSc, IEng, MSOE, MIRTE - Manufacturing Quality

Mr. Parkin is an accredited senior Engineering Manager who specialises in Lean Facilitation, Quality Assurance and Continuous Improvement, auditing, and enhancing output focussed processes to improve functionality productivity and efficiency. He is highly competent with QA, ISO9001, Prince 2 and Lean Manufacturing Initiatives. He has extensive experience in mechanical engineering, manufacturing, and quality with both the British Army as Senior Availability and Technical Manager, and a Senior Engineering and Operations Manager, and within Canada as a Quality Manager.

He carries his BTEC HNC in Engineering, BSC, a Masters in Business, and an array of diplomas and certificates in Safety Management, engineering standards assessment, Engineering Management, Root Case Failure Analysis and Maintenance and Change Management.

Martin Samson - Software

Mr. Samson has been working in the Information Technology sector for over 24 years, with 18 of those specializing in Document Management software platforms. Along with his technical background, Martin brings hands on experience from the business requirements perspective, allowing him to provide a wide-angled vision to analyze, solve and respond to the needs of organizations.

His diverse platform exposure has allowed him to understand how different software functionality affects organizations, and has successfully deployed a collaboration solution for over 1,400 users nationally, as well as an EDM System for the Canadian Coast Guard.

Martin has an associate degree in both Sciences and in Radio and Television Communications, as well as certificates in Manufacturing and Production Controls and Accounting.

Bradley Fossen, P.Eng., MBA - Engineering and Regulatory

Mr. Fossen is a highly experienced professional engineer who has strategic capabilities in both the project and operational areas for capital projects. He has actively created and implemented the infrastructure required for successful Asset Integrity, and was key in successfully bringing a failing project back on budget. In addition, Brad has gained executive exposure as a strategist after preparing an internal memo outlining the intricacies, opportunities, and challenges with utilizing foreign workers for industrial construction projects, addressing labour shortages of the time.

Along with being a Professional Engineer with APEGA, he is also a Level I CFA and holds his Masters in Business. His affiliations include ASME, ABSA – licensed in-service inspector, and National Board – 1 of only 5000 Nation Board In-Service Inspectors across the globe.

David Johnston - Safety and Environment

Mr. Johnston is a coach and resource for the development of safe, environmentally sound, and compliant work environments. He has broad field experience covering construction, service companies, oil field production operations, drilling, and completions. As a Senior Safety Advisor with the Canadian Safety Consultants, he specializes in serious third party accident investigations and develops action plans to upgrade safety, environmental, regulatory compliance programs and the due diligence documentation required to support them.

In addition to planning, reconnaissance, and liaising with the US Army Intelligence Corp, he has completed a semester in Mechanical Engineering and two semesters in Forestry. He carries tickets in WHMIS, TDG, H2S Alive, First Aid, Fire Extinguisher, Bill C-45, Defensive Driving, Media Spokesperson Training, PITS Safety Inspection Skills, Modern Safety Management by DNV and Accident Investigation by DNV.

Donald E. H. Jones, P.Eng. - Project Management and Controls

Mr. Jones is a seasoned oil and gas executive with over 40 years of extensive and diverse global oil and gas experience in North and South America, Africa, Asia and South East Asia. His broad background has been gained with Engineering, Procurement and Construction, Manufacturing and Service and Exploration and Production firms, ranging from small private entities and medium cap public companies to state owned companies and fully integrated super majors.

Project execution experience in both onshore and offshore facilities in conventional and unconventional oil and gas development has been combined with full exploration and production responsibility in a remote complex country setting, providing a thorough understanding of the combined influence of the various inter-relationships of the energy business sectors.

His sound business and technical acumen and ability to adapt has allowed Mr. Jones to step into a variety of challenging situations, invariably adding material stakeholder value.  Mr. Jones holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Calgary.
